  • The Junior Ring Ceremony will be on Tuesday, April 18th.  Sign up to participate using the google form on gorebs.org.  Only current seniors or faculty/staff members can present rings.  The form will be available today starting at noon. 

  • The library will be hosting an art show TODAY during both lunch shifts. You are invited to view the amazing talent of our WMHS art students. 

  • Due to testing, the library will be closed tomorrow all day! Any student who needs to print dual enrollment paperwork needs to do so TODAY. You will be unable to come to the library tomorrow.

  • Attention English Latino Leadership Society club members!!!! Today is the last day to turn in permission slips in order to attend the field trip this Thursday to the VCOM Medical School and ULM.  Please get those slips to Ms. Eason no later that 3rd hour.  We will be loading the bus at 8:00 sharp on Thursday so please be on time and wear your club shirts. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Eason in 1206.

  • Lady Rebels Volleyball tryouts will be held on May 10&11. You will need to be at both tryouts with a completed packet and tryout fee paid. Tryout packets are located on the Volleyball page on the West Monroe web site. Any questions email Coach Coons.

  • Next week is Student Council Week. There will be a dress up contest each day for a chance to win a prize: tie dye Tuesday, western Wednesday, throwback Thursday, and freedom Friday. QR codes will be available on the boardwalk at the student council booth for you to submit a photo of your costume each day. There will also be games and other contests available on the boardwalk during both lunch shifts all week.

  • Any girls that are interested in trying out for soccer this Spring need to go see Coach Barron in room 2201 as soon as possible to sign up for tryouts. Tryouts will be Mon and Weds, April 17 and 19th immediately after school at the stadium.

  • The Junior Civitans have been invited to volunteer with the Dixie Diehards on April 15th. Members should check out our Google Classroom for more information.

  • Attention Board Game Club Members: We will have a meeting tomorrow in the library directly after school.

  • Juniors and seniors:

    • Attention juniors and seniors attending prom, the venue for our prom has changed.  We will now have prom at Bayou Pointe on ULM’s campus.  See the prom page on gorebs.com for a map of the new location.  Prom Ticket sales have been extended to the Monday we return from break.   This is also a reminder that you must show your photo ID at the dance to get in.

  • Seniors:

    • Ben Caldwell Memorial Scholarship - Available to any WMHS Senior who has a 3.0 GPA, and who submits the required essay about friendship along with their application. Due Date is Friday, April 21st. 

    • LELA's $1,000 Choose Louisiana Scholarship Drawing - Available to any Louisiana Senior who plans on attending a Louisiana College in Fall 2023. Students can register for this Drawing online at LELA's website.

    • We have a scholarship opportunity available through the Monroe Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. This Scholarship opportunity is available to Female Seniors with a 3.0 GPA and ACT Score of 18. The Deadline is April 17th. Please reach out to the Guidance Dept or gorebs.org to find out more.

    • The Balanced Man Scholarship is provided by Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. This scholarship opportunity is available for all Male Students that plan on attending LSU in Fall of 2023. Applicants are NOT required to join this or any other Fraternity to apply. Four scholarships will be awarded ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 each.

    • Taylor Fisher Memorial Scholarship - Due Tomorrow, April 5th

    • Claiborne Elementary PTA Scholarship - Due on Thursday, April 6th

    • Faith Over Fear Scholarship - Due Thursday, April 6th

  • Don't forget that dual enrollment packets are due to Mrs. Hunt in room 4209 no later than WEDNESDAY of this week. If you do not complete a packet, you will not be placed in a dual enrollment class.
